“I’d like to volunteer but my life is so busy, I only have a few hours a month to give” –WE CAN USE YOUR FEW HOURS A MONTH!BEACON PROGRAMMING has a variety of ways to volunteer.
If you have a LIMITED AMOUNT OF TIME, this may be the perfect way to become involved in our ministry. Below is a description of our volunteer positions:
*BRIDGE CLASS LEADERSHIP POSITION: Our lifestyle classes meet on the 2nd, 3rd & 4th Tuesday of each month from 6:30 – 8:30 P.M. This role would involve serving as a co- leader for one Tuesday/month. Responsibilities would include helping with set up/clean up, devotional time, and possibly some teaching. Classes are geared to help our patients with lifestyle skills, parenting skills, relationships & spiritual maturity. This position requires in-house volunteer training and is a one year commitment.
*MEAL PROVIDER FOR BRIDGE CLASSES: We offer a light meal at each Bridge class. This volunteer role involves preparing and delivering a meal, once a quarter, for our class participants on Tuesday evening.
*SPEAKER FOR BRIDGE CLASSES: If you have a topic/area of expertise that you would be willing to teach to our patients, we would love to put you on our speaker list. Speakers are used periodically during the year. All materials require approval from our Program Coordinator.
MENTORS: This programming option provides a one-on-one support role for qualified patients. Mentors meet with an assigned mentee twice a month, on-site, for an hour to offer help and encouragement. All mentoring/teaching materials are provided. This position requires in-house volunteer training and is a one year commitment. Mentors are needed for both men and women.
