Questions about being a volunteer? Please read this first, if you need assistance please contact Vanessa Sokic (click here to email her).  Vanessa's direct line is 678-893-5281. Vanessa is in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Please leave a message, she will return your call promptly.

Volunteers provide an invaluable contribution to the organization. We simply could not do the work we do without the help of dedicated volunteers. Currently, there are several different ways you can get involved and help the organization meet the needs of the patient.  A Beacon of Hope (Parent Organization) currently has seven teams looking for volunteers:

ALL volunteers are required to complete the volunteer application packet (click here to retrieve a hard copy and hand write the application and send it directly to Beacon via the mail, attention: Vanessa).

One Time Volunteer / Meal Provision: Click here If you are volunteering one time for a specific project without patient contact please complete this form; for example: providing a meal on Tuesday evenings.

Click here Project Volunteer Application (Non-Patient Interaction)

~All completed forms need to be sent directly to Beacon, Att: Vanessa

Once the application is received and processed you will be contacted and an interview will be scheduled.
If you do not hear from Beacon within 3 weeks, please touch base to make sure we received your
application. Vanessa processes the volunteer applications. Vanessa only works on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays. Vanessa's direct line is 678.893.5281.

If you need certain forms within the packet or completed the packet online please use the following links:
Reference Forms (3 references are required)
Background Check (Required)
Volunteer Confidentiality Pledge (Required)

ALL volunteers that choose a role that includes patient interaction are required to participate in Patient Care Training, for example:

  1. Patient Care Team-Patient Care Advocates, Boutique Facilitators, Individualized Education, The Bridge Leaders, Receptionist ...
  2. Prevention Team

This is an excellent training that equips all volunteers to appropriately and compassionately interact with our patients.  Please note, it is a great 2 day training that really enlightens the volunteer and provides unity for the organization and fellowship among the volunteer team.

Please note, all team members are very valuable to the organization and the goal is to join a team that is a solid match for your strengths.  We would like to encourage you to read through the team descriptions, this will help you have an overall understanding of what roles and responsibilities partner with each team position.  Also, some individuals serve on more than one team.  We would like to encourage you to really commit to serving in one area really well, rather than spreading yourself too thin by serving in several different areas.

If you are feeling led to serve but don't feel it needs to be according to a specific team, please share this with us so that you can be placed according to our greatest need.

Important information~

Both centers, the Pregnancy Center of Johns Creek and the Pregnancy Center of Decatur function according to these five teams as well.  Our need for volunteer assistance is great at both locations. When filling out the volunteer application you will have an opportunity to communicate to us which location is the best match for you and if you are willing to serve at both locations.

~1 Corinthians 12:27-28~

"Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, also those having gifts of healing, those able to help others, those with gifts of administration, and those speaking in different kinds of tongues." Every Christian possesses a gift and is called to use it in service within the body to build up the body of Christ, to strengthen the body and to carry out its purpose within the world. Each member of the body of Christ is also called to serve the church through his or her natural gifts and abilities. This service is offered out of devotion to Christ for the sacrifice He made on the cross, providing them with eternal life in heaven. The diversity of gifts, each supporting the other, makes the body strong!
